About Caroline Glen - Gold Coast Poet

Caroline Glen, born in Rangiora, New Zealand, attended Rangiora, Fendalton Open-Air, Rangi Ruru, and Craighead Schools. She has lived most of her adult life in Australia and currently lives on the Gold Coast.

Her five published poetry books are: Along the Way, On Seagulls' Wings, Caviar for Breakfast, Poems from Paradise and The Tongue Between the Toes.

Caroline has given poetry readings in Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane and has given talks to schoolchildren. For eight years she coordinated the Gold Coast Writers' Poetry Group.

In 2004 she was short-listed for the Newcastle Prize. In 2005 she attended the first Florida Poetry Festival.  In the same year she won a scholarship to a poetry seminar at Sarah Lawrence College, New York. On return to Australia she cut a CD reading twenty-one of her poems.

In July 2006 Caroline Glen conducted a workshop supported by Gold Coast Writers' Association, and in June, 2007 gave a workshop for Gecko's World Environment Day Festival.

She has had much competition success.  Her work has been published in Australian and American magazines. Caroline lives at Surfers Paradise, Australia.

Each year the Gold Coast Writers and Royal Queensland Art Society combine to create paintings and prose or poetry that complement each other.
